Riverside Junior High
I have been the Media Specialist at Riverside Junior High for three years. My undergraduate work was in Telecommunications and I worked in television for almost 20 years before returning to school for Library Science and teaching. The Harry Potter Series opened my eyes to middle grade and young adult literature and started me on the path to being a school librarian. The move was also inspired by family; as two sisters-in-law work in libraries and one of my three brothers also has his degree in Library Science. My wife’s name is Leslie and we have 2 kids, Nathan who is a Junior at Fishers and Zachary who is in 8th grade at Fishers Junior High. I enjoy running, reading and watching my kids play sports. My favorite book is Okay For Now by Gary D. Schmidt and my favorite author is currently Laurie Halse Anderson. I coach Academic Team and Riverside Intermediate Track and also serve on the Young Hoosier Book Award Selection Committee for Middle Grades. I am excited for the changes that we’ve made to the Riverside Junior High library and for the many changes to come as we incorporate more technology and digital citizenship into the lives of our students.
